Poisonous for Dogs
Put all dangerous substances out of the reach of your pet, just as you would put them out of the reach of children.
Here are a few especially big hazards to your dog:
1. Household garbage: Household garbage is one of the most common sources of inedible ingestion (toxins)
for dogs. Keep a lid on it.
2. Anti-freeze
3. Chocolate
4. Lead
5. Rat poison
Inside or out, plants can invite your dog's investigation, but
not all plants are dog-friendly. Some are deadly, such as the
following:
1. Indoor plants
• Cactus
• Dumbcane
• Marijuana
• Mistletoe
• Philodendron
• Poinsettia sap
• Tobacco
2. Outdoor plants
• Azalea bush
• Daffodil flower/bud
• Honeysuckle
• Horse chestnut
• Lily of the valley
• Morning glory flower
• Rhododendron shrub
• Rhubarb
• Skunk cabbage
• Tulip bulb
• Wild mushroom
If your dog is carrying a plant in his mouth, do not race
toward him; he might perceive your actions as Prize Envy
and may gulp the evidence. Approach calmly and stare at the
floor, not into his eyes. "Plants aren't for puppies,
silly." Say “RELEASE” and take the plant.
